I’ve been looking at the sky again (2025)

for treble voices, SATB choir, and piano

“I’ve been looking at the sky again” is a spinning mess of harmony, wonder, and unfinished thoughts. My lifelong fascination with the sky has taken many forms, from cloud identification and amateur astronomy to kite-flying and a love of the color blue. The sky is generous and vast, and I have always found a way to feel at ease with it. Using a simple two-chord progression and a few handfuls of jumbled polyphonic text, “I’ve been looking at the sky again” invites singers and listeners alike to look up and get lost in the miraculous bigness of the world.
